Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu today announced schools will not close despite the coronavirus outbreak in 36 schools. Further consultation on the issue will be held tomorrow.
In doing so, the Prime Minister accepted the position of Education Minister Yoav Galant over that expressed by the Health Ministry.
Health Ministry Coronavirus Department figures show that 225 teachers and students in the education system are diagnosed as having coronavirus as of tonight.
4,925 students and teaching staff are in isolation as of tonight. The number of schools closed as a result of finding students or staff infected with coronavirus increased to 36 this evening.
The Health Ministry data released this evening shows the number of "active" coronavirus patients in Israel has risen by 49 patients over the past day and stands at 2,055 patients. Read more at Arutz-7
