Leader of Blue and White alliance Benny Gantz rejected on Wednesday calls for an all-round merger between parties of the left-center bloc, but did note that he is in favor of a merger between parties left to his faction.

“Blue and White will not team up with other parties,” the former Israeli military chief stipulated at the Kohelet Policy Forum conference held in Jerusalem.

Gantz said that “Blue and White is determined to lead a government of change, hope, and come out of the next elections as the largest party in the Knesset. But in order for that to happen, to the left of us, a merger between the left-Zionist parties is needed.”
