Israel’s Electric Corporation (IEC) will be increasing power cuts in West Bank starting November 17 due to a 1 billion NIS in unpaid debt, according to a report from Hebrew news outlet Kan. The first stage of power cuts was announced in September.

In August, Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA) reached an agreement in which the PA would pay 300 million shekels to cover the debt owed to the IEC.

According to the agreement, the money would be deducted from taxes for the PA, and the company and the authority would work to form an orderly contract for the supply of electricity.
