JERUSALEM (VosIzNeias) – Israel’s version to ‘Air Force One’ on Thursday encountered a serious malfunction in its braking system during its first test flight ahead of a planned Sunday take-off. Ynet reported. The situation ended without damages or casualties.

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) reported that the test flight was carried out to check the brakes ahead of a Sunday flight.

The Boeing 767-300ER airliner arrived in Israel in the summer of 2016 from the Australian airline Qantas and has since been modernized by the IAI, and is due to be used by both the country’s prime minister and president on their foreign visits, the state-of-the-art jet is estimated to cost at least NIS 600 million ($170 million), boasting sophisticated encrypted communications systems. once operational, the jet is capable of flying non-stop to China, Japan, the US or Brazil.
