Jerusalem, Israel - Oct. 6, 2019 - For the 27th time, President Reuven Rivlin hosted the 929 Bible Study group at Beit Hanasi in Jerusalem Israel on October 6, ז' בתשרי תש"ף . The President and Rabbi Benny Lau founder and head of the 929 Tanach study spoke on the topic: חדש ימינו כקדם- האמונה בהתחדשות אישית ולאומית - ‘Renew Our Days as of Old – Belief in Personal and National Renewal.’

Writer Eli Amir and author Emunah Elon were the other two speakers in the main room filled with invited guests, including  Miriam Naor former President of the Supreme Court of Israel and her husband, Elyakim Rubinstein, former Vice President of the Supreme Court and his wife, and new Miltary Secretary to the President B.G Alaa Abu-Rukun.

The President began, "This verse is saturated with hope and faith in our ability to re-regenerate as individuals and as a nation. But only seemingly. The beauty of this verse is the motion back and forth. What does revive? How can regenerate, when returning back? The answer, in my opinion, by deepening roots in the ground. Only from a firm grip, you can build a new building. Return. Touch the foundations. Believe that innocence is possible."

Concluding his remarks the president said, "This year we are experiencing the same winds of change also transferred to the national. After two sets of elections exhausting and difficult, it seems new days are upon us, and if you do not know what they bring with them we are already seeing and guessing the change, and movement. What was probably never will be. Not everything is perfect and there are many distortions and difficulties that require correction, but in times of crisis and movement, we must remember that the fundamentals exist, and stay strong, as we work on the new building. Happy New year and Gmar Chatima Tova for all."

As Rabbi Lau concluded his remarks on Tehilim he offered the President special wishes of good health and brachos, as the previous week was President Rivlin's Bar Mitzvah parsha.
