Brooklyn, NY - A Jewish woman and her son in law have both been laid to rest after a two car Belt Parkway crash in Springfield Gardens near JFK Airport that occurred on Sunday.
The NYPD said that the collision took place just before noon on the westbound side of the highway at Rockaway Boulevard when a 2018 Camry plowed into a 2015 GMC Yukon that was stopped on the roadway’s right shoulder.
Six people were injured in the crash and transported to Jamaica Hospital.
90 year old Toby Zippin of Flatbush, a passenger in the Camry, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Her son in law, 60 year old Scott Linsky of Flatbush, the driver of the Camry, died on Tuesday.
The four others injured included the 53 year old driver of the Yukon and three female passengers, ages 57, 61 and 80. It is unclear which car the women were in at the time of the crash.
No arrests or summonses have been issued at this time. The cause of the accident is still being investigated by the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad.
