Sdeort, Israel - Mar. 26, 2019 - Civilians living in Sderot, in southern Israel near the Gaza border, have lived under attack for years. Projectitles, missiles, rockets and explosive balloons launched from Gaza terrorists have damaged property, taken lives, and caused stress to young and old.

Bomb shelters are located on school playgrounds, near bus stops, and multiple locations on busy streets, and in private homes and public buildings.

On Tuesday, March 26, after a sleepless night with multiple alerts and rocket attacks, the streets of Sderot were quiet. The parking lot of Sapir College was empty. The Sderot public library was more quiet than usual.  Schools were called off due to concern of more rockets being fired from Gaza and injuring students.

Israeli Police Spokesperson Micky Rosenfeld met with the media at the private home where overnight a rocket and gone through the roof, into a second floor bedroom.

The house is located in an area that was hit before. Shrapnel marks are visible on the house next door, out of the window frame waiting for new windows to replace the ones blown to bits when the projectile came through the roof with a force to damage the floor and furniture. However, it did not explode. Miraculously, it did not explode, or the force would have destroyed the entire house and damaged adjoining property. Experts removed the explosive device and are studying its contents and origin.

Yet in spite of the high alert situation, new building construction was proceeding and Sderot is growing rapidly.
