The Democratic Party adopted a resolution last week calling for the United States to return to being part of the 2015 Iran nuclear accord, signaling its 2020 platform will consist of re-entering the deal that America withdrew from last year.

“The United States should return to its obligations under the JCPOA, and utilize multilateral and bilateral diplomacy to achieve political solutions to remaining challenges regarding Iran,” stated the motion that passed on Feb. 16.

Almost all Democrats supported the nuclear agreement and opposed the US withdrawal from it in May 2018.

The Trump administration soon followed that decision by reimposing sanctions that had been lifted under the deal, in addition to enacting fresh economic penalties against Tehran.... Read More: MATZAV
