Facing existential threats daily, Israeli security officials are preparing for the future, and the Security Cabinet is expected to approve 30 billion shekels over the next decade, to be invested in defense systems that will intercept missile strikes. Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon announced Hizbullah has 120,000 rockets pointed at Israel, and this does not include the arsenal in Hamas-controlled Gaza or other Arab nations that do not maintain relations with Israel.

Israel, with the cooperation and assistance of the United States, has already developed the Iron Dome for short range rocket attacks, David’s Sling for mid-range attacks and the Patriot missiles for long-range attacks. Just this week, Israel used the David’s Sling system for a first time, and Baruch Hashem, it was successful. On Tuesday, two Patriot missiles were fired at a Syrian fighter plane that invaded Israeli airspace, and it was shot down after traveling two kilometers into Israeli territory. Unfortunately, the Iron Dome is called into service too often, as rocket attacks from Gaza is a commonplace occurrence.
