Former Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon, who is trying to reenter the political arena, told Walla News on Thursday morning, 22 Tammuz, that fields in Gaza should be set ablaze in response to the fire kites sent over the border fence from Gaza into southern Israel. Ya’alon added that to date, the kites have caused hundreds of fires and enormous damage to agriculture in the area.
Regarding Israel’s threats against Hamas, Ya’alon said that “these are empty threats, and that ultimatums, which are only talk, damage deterrence, and we do not have to wait three months to try to change the equation.”
Regarding the solution in Gaza, Ya’alon said: “It is impossible to reach any military solution in with a ‘Zabang’ and then be finished … The policy should be one that the Palestinians understand that they have their own autonomy. We maneuver so that they will not reach a crisis. The responsibility is Hamas’ and not ours. Read more at YWN
