Israel’s Police Commissioner, Roni Alsheich spoke on Wednesday evening at the University of Tel Aviv conference and told the gathered crowd that three years is too short a term to be Commissioner and that he was considering the possibility of extending his term.

“I did not ask to become the Commissioner, but I am enjoying every minute of it. As long as I am asked to continue my term for another year, I will consider it. I expect that my answer will be yes because I have such a strong love for the police force that goes down to the very depths of my soul. The job of a commissioner and of the force in general is to adequately train and develop its officers, commanders, captains and commissioners well. Up until now, I have never had to settle when it came to appointing talented commissioners or high-ranking officers.” Read more at YWN
