Tragedy struck in Israel in the Yam Hamelech area, where a group of yeshiva bochurim on a hike were swept away in a flash flood.

Approximately twenty bochurim from Bnei Zion Academy in Tel Aviv were on a hike in the Nachal Tzafit area, when terrible flooding struck the area, leading to the bochurim’s bus being swept away.

Aravah Search & Rescue Unit, in conjunction with ZAKA and military rescue helicopter units, was able to rescue nine of the bochurim. Magen David Adom needed to scramble to bring in ambulances from neighboring areas to transport all of the injured to Soroka hospital for emergency treatments.

Meanwhile, the search continues for the ten additional boys who have disappeared in the deluge, with multiple helicopters and rescue boat scouring the area.

Eight bodies have since been recovered r”l, with ten boys still missing.
