Attempting to sabotage the new underground anti-tunnel barrier built by the IDF, four Palestinians cross the border from Gaza and attempt to set fire to tools used in its construction.

Four Palestinians entered Israel from the Gaza Strip in the area of Kibbutz Kissufim and attempted to torch engineering tools used in construction work of the underground anti-tunnel barrier.

An IDF force approached them and the four fled back to the Gaza Strip.

There were no casualties and no damage was caused to the tools.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the four arrived at an engineering compound near the border, were large IDF tools used to build the new subterranean Gaza barrier are held.

They then tried to set the tools on fire with gasoline tanks they brought with them, fleeing when they saw an IDF patrol team headed their way.

Apparently, the attempt stood out for being both amateurish and brazen, and is seen in severity by the IDF in light of its timing—taking place just days before a large protest initiated by Hamas set to take place at the border wall, as well recent attempts at planting detonation devices against IDF forces nearby.

The IDF's Gaza Division will be reinforced as part of the preparations for the mass protests, planned to take place Friday. Read more at YNet
