Jerusalem, Israel - Apr. 8, 2019 - Matzah baking in Jerusalem's Municipal Plaza has become an annual event. On April 7 and 8, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, the public was invited to come and bake their own matzah.

A tent was erected in the square with long tables and necessary equipment to make hand matzah. Metal rolling pins, disposable gloves were provided, as well as the dough. Timers were set, and teams of young men and boys were ready outside near the ovens to bake the dough quickly.

After the matzah cooled, each piece was inspected, and those pieces deemed not kosher were rejected. Some of the young students who excitedly prepared their matzah, were sweating as the exited the work tent on the first warm day of spring. Specially labeled boxes were prepared for the "Festival of Matzah in the Square."
