Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas accused Hamas of lacking “intentions to achieve reconciliation” during a meeting of the Palestinian Central Council on Wednesday.

By contrast, the Palestinian leadership in Ramallah wants “one government, one law and one legitimate weapon without militias,” connecting the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, Abbas declared.

Abbas clarified that any future intra-Palestinian reconciliation agreement must be impartial and “all inclusive” in the sense that a future Palestinian state must unite Gazans and Palestinians living in the West Bank.
