Brooklyn, NY - A midday attack that left a 52 year old Chasidic Crown Heights man bleeding and gasping for breath is being investigated by the NYPD as a hate crime.
Menachem Moskowitz told VIN News that he was on his way home from Shabbos morning davening at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center when he said hello to a man that he passed at the corner of Schenectady and Rutland avenues who began an angry tirade against him.

More than 90,000 disposal pouches are being distributed statewide by the Maryland National Guard. Officials hope the pouches will help keep prescription drugs off the streets.
The pouches can be used as a safe alternative to discarding medication at takeback events or searching for turn-in boxes.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — A gunman carried a shotgun in a guitar case and opened fire Friday in a Florida high school, wounding one student before he was arrested on a day planned for a national classroom walkout to protest gun violence, authorities said.
Nineteen-year-old suspect Sky Bouche said "Sorry," followed by "It doesn't matter anyway" to reporters as he was led from the school in handcuffs by several deputies.

Some 250 people will join a US delegation to Israel’s capital for the opening of the new embassy in Jerusalem next month, Axios reported on Sunday, including dozens of lawmakers, senior advisers to President Donald Trump, and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.

James Shaw Jr. says he had gone to eat early Sunday after visiting a nightclub. He then heard gunshots, but initially though they were stacks of plates that had fallen over.
