Republican insiders say former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg is the last remaining threat to President Donald Trump’s re-election bid, the Washington Examiner is reporting.

They note that Joe Biden has stumbled in the first two contests and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., is considered too liberal to defeat Trump. Republicans also argue that former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn. are not strong enough with non-white voters.

“Right now, Bloomberg is the biggest threat to President Trump in the fall,” said Jason Miller, a former Trump adviser who, along with Steve Bannon, co-hosts “War Room 2020.” a syndicated radio program. The show is carried live on weekday mornings on Newsmax TV.

And a Republican ad writer said: “They should be terrified of Bloomberg. The magnitude of his financial advantage could overwhelm them.”

The Examiner noted that Bloomberg has invested more than $350 million in his campaign since late November. And Republicans are taking his promise very seriously to spend whatever it takes to beat Trump. Read more at Newsmax
