Baltimore, MD, April 18, 2024—Coalition for Jewish Values (CJV) today called upon Members of the House of Representatives to support the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2024, providing defensive weaponry needed to combat the Hamas terror organization and its chief sponsor, Iran, which recently attacked Israel directly. CJV also sent letters to Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and new Appropriations Committee Chairman Tom Cole (R-OK), thanking them for their “unwavering commitment to bolstering Israel’s security.”

In the letters, CJV President Rabbi Yoel Schonfeld stated that “it is crucial that Israel be provided with the means to defend itself from attack and to remove the genocidal threat posed by the Hamas terror organization towards every Israeli—and every Jew, worldwide. Your efforts thus resonate deeply with us.”

“These are dangerous times for the world,” added CJV Managing Director Rabbi Yaakov Menken, “with democracy and self-determination simultaneously threatened in Ukraine, Taiwan, and Israel. Iran and its terror proxies are especially dangerous not only to Israelis, but to every American as well. American financial support and arms help Israel to preserve both Israeli and American lives and liberties, and we are grateful to Speaker Johnson, Chairman Cole, and all those on both sides of the aisle working to bring about this added support.”
