Baltimore, MD – Mar. 29, 2023 – After a recent inspiring trip together to Eretz Yisrael, the SOTC Yarchei Kallah chaburah decided to perpetuate the kedusha of Eretz Yisrael by uniting in a special matzah baking event on Tuesday evening, March 28, in Pikesville. The matzah lishmah was baked under the attentive guidance of R' Reuben Flax. The Pikesville facility, located off Old Milford Rd past the rehabilitation center, had previously been a site for matzah baking before COVID. This year, the facility reopened under R’ Reuben and his dedicated team.

Over the course of three hours, attendees completed three to four rounds of baking, each round lasting no more than 18 minutes. Each participant produced about three to four matzahs during the process. Meticulous cleanup took place between each round, including sanding wooden dough rollers to remove any small dough pieces, repapering tables, washing, and rebuilding the custom-made matzah perforator, and cleaning the poles used to transport the rolled matzah into the oven. Plastic aprons and gloves were replaced after each round to maintain cleanliness. All steps were carried out under close supervision, were guided by Sububan's Mara D’asra Rav Shmuel Silber.
