Baltimore, MD - May 15, 2022 - This week marks National Police Week which pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

Chabad Rabbi Chesky Tenenbaum, Law Enforcement Chaplain and director of the Jewish Uniform Service Association of Maryland attended and offered prayers at ceremonies honoring our fallen heroes.

On the first day of Police Week, this past Wednesday, Rabbi Tenenbaum gave the benediction at the United States Secret Service Wall of Honor Memorial Ceremony, remembering the fallen heroes of the Secret Service. He then, together with the Shomrim Society of Maryland, co-hosted  a dinner reception welcoming the members of the Israel Police Unity Tour, as they passed through Baltimore on their way to DC for Police Week.

The next event that he played a role in was the National Conference of Shomrim Societies Annual Memorial Kaddish Service for Fallen Jewish Law Enforcement Officers at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. This is the only official Jewish program held during Police Week. He lead the Kaddish Service together with National Shomrim Chaplain Rabbi Tzvi Berkowitz and DC Shomrim Chaplain Cantor Michael Shochet.

Rabbi Tenenbaum then headed straight from DC to Baltimore for the next event. He gave a meaningful benediction at the Law Enforcement Memorial Run as they stopped in Baltimore on its way to D.C.

He then said a special prayer at the Baltimore City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 3 memorial wall commemorating the newly added name of the late Baltimore Police Department Officer Keona Holley.

May the memories of our fallen heroes be a blessing.
