Former President Trump makes first public appearance since leaving office, addressing 2021 CPAC conference.

Former US President Donald Trump on Sunday addressed the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference, being held at the Hyatt Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

The event is the former president's first public appearance since he left office last month.

“As we gather this week, we are in the middle of an historic struggle for America's future, America's culture, America’s institutions, borders and most cherished principles. Our security our prosperity and our very identity as Americans is at stake like perhaps at no other time," Trump said

"We have the Republican party. It's going to unite and be stronger than ever before. I am not starting a new party. That was fake news. Wouldn't that be brilliant? Let's start a new party and divide our vote," he added.

Trump criticized his successor, saying, "Joe Biden has had the most disastrous month in history. They are anti-borders, anti-women, and anti-science. We went from America First to America last in one month."

"We did such a good job on our southern border. It's all gone now. We had created the most secure border in our history. We built 500 miles of the border wall. Walls and wheels are two things will never change," added Trump.

"Joe Biden has triggered a massive flood of illegal immigration to our country, the likes we have never seen before. They are coming to take advantage of the things he said. We can't afford the problems of the world."

Trump teased a 2024 run, and said of the Democrats, "Actually, as you know they just lost the White House...who knows, I may even decide to beat them for a third time."

If Trump does run again in 2024, he will be the first presidential candidate since Richard Nixon to seek the White House after a losing bid. No candidate since Grover Cleveland has won two non-consecutive terms as president.

Continuing his criticism of Biden, Trump said, "He revoked an executive order cracking down on sanctuary cities has effectively ordered a shutdown of ICE, halting virtually all deportations."

Trump accused Biden of “making America into a sanctuary nation" and said Republicans must hold Biden accountable for ripping up asylum cooperative agreements with Northern Triangle countries.

Trump said that kids “must get back [to school] and get back right now." He accused Biden of "selling out America's children to the teachers' unions."

"Joe Biden has shamefully betrayed America's youth and he is cruelly keeping our children locked in their homes, no reason for it whatsoever," added the former President.

Trump took credit for the vaccine operation in the US, and said Democrats are "following our plan". He then added, "If we had an honest media, which we don't, they would say it loud and clear."

He criticized Biden for repealing the Trump-era travel bans, saying, “It was a great achievement and he terminated it.”

“He’s increased refugee admissions by nearly 10 times but in effect it'll be hundreds of times as millions of people flow up through our soon-to-be open borders," warned Trump. "Your family can still not go out to eat at local restaurants, but Joe Biden is bringing in thousands upon thou of refugees from all over the world, people who no-one knows anything about."

Trump also criticized Biden's foreign policy, and in particular over the decision to drop a sanctions push against Iran.

“Leave the sanctions, negotiate, does anybody understand what I’m saying here?” he said.

Trump also commented on the 2020 elections, saying Republicans need to work for fair and secure elections. Read more at Arutz-7
