Defendant lawyer says Amazon has no choice but to suspend account following violent content on Parler

After being removed from Amazon’s stores following the deadly storming of a mob on the US Capitol, social media platform Parler called on a US judge to order the giant e-commerce firm to restore its account, news agency Reuters reported Thursday.

Parler’s lawyer David Groesbeck told US District Judge Barbara Rothstein that “Millions of law-abiding Americans have had their voices silenced. There is no evidence, other than some anecdotal press references, that Parler was involved in inciting the riots,” Reuters reported.

The lawyer further downplayed Parler’s role in the riots in Washington, stressing that his client would suffer “irreparable harm” if compelled to close. Read more at i24
