Baltimore, MD - Mar. 19, 2020:

Dear Friends,

I hope you are all managing.

I want to share an important and outstanding initiative that can help a number of you.

In response to the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) crisis, Ahavas Yisrael is implementing an “errand-coordination” program to support the most vulnerable segments of our community during this challenging time.

This initiative is intended for individuals who are age 60 and older and for individuals/families with medical conditions, as the medical community has deemed it especially critical to limit their exposure to large public settings.

Our volunteer network is limited. We are therefore requesting that this program be utilized only by people who have no other support network to assist them with these services. The errand coordination team will assist with the pick-up and drop-off of essentials in the form of (a) food items and (b) household hygienic products (soap, tissues, etc.)

Note: each order/delivery is limited to essentials that will cover you (and your family) for a one-week time period. Our volunteers will use their discretion to adjust amounts in order to be fair and reasonable to everyone who requests the service. To view the list of available items, please view the attached flyer.

If you are in need of assistance or know someone who could benefit from this program, please call 410-635-0461 or 410-645-0744.

I am so grateful to the outstanding individuals who have stepped forward to create and provide this outstanding service. Please call them if you match the criteria for this program.

Please note that anyone and everyone in any category should STAY HOME; SAVE LIVES. Please do not go out more than for an occasional and truly necessary shopping trip, and keep your social distance. The situation is serious.

May the kinds of acts of kindness described in this email bring a ray of light and a Zechus to see this situation come to a speedy, safe and healthy conclusion.

Kol tuv!

Moshe Hauer
