A woman made an unfounded bomb threat Monday morning outside a Motor Vehicle Administration office in Bel Air, Maryland State Police said.

The threat was reported just after 9:20 outside the office at 501 West MacPhail Road. The woman claimed a bomb was in her vehicle. The MVA requested the entrance to their Bel Air office be closed, and told everyone in the building to shelter in place as a state police K9 unit responded, police said.

After the location was deemed safe, the MVA location and nearby roads were reopened at around 10:30 a.m. The woman never made it inside the building, since she was stopped by a state trooper at the door. She was taken to an area hospital for an emergency evaluation.

No injuries were reported.
