State and Local Leaders Senator Dalya Attar and Councilman Yitzy Schleifer to Attend & Share Remarks

Baltimore, MD - June 27, 2025 - Tide Realty Capital (“TRC”), a Baltimore-based real estate investment and advisory firm, will celebrate the successful completion of Phase I renovations at Reisterstown Road Plaza (“The Plaza”) with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 12:30 in front of the main entrance. The event will include TRC leadership, community partners, and local and state officials – including State Senator Dalya Attar, State Delegates Sandy Rosenberg, Malcolm Ruff, Sean Stinnett, and Councilman Yitzy Schleifer – highlighting the public-private collaboration behind the project and marking a major milestone in The Plaza’s transformation into a vibrant “Town Center.”

The centerpiece of Phase I renovations was the transformation of the Plaza’s main entrance. The outdated rotunda was replaced with a sleek, modern façade that sets a welcoming tone for the entire property. This upgrade not only enhances the Plaza’s curb appeal but also signals the start of a broader revitalization effort. Other improvements include new paint on all exterior surfaces, repaved parking areas, new trees throughout, and the addition of new retailers.

“This project demonstrates what’s possible when private investment, public support, and community partnership come together with a shared goal,” said Aaron Loeb, President of Tide Realty Capital. “Collaborations like this don’t happen every day in our city, and we’re proud to be part of something that’s driving real momentum in Northwest Baltimore – we are doing things here that people never imagined. A couple of weeks ago, we transformed the former PetCo space to host a fundraiser that brought more than two hundred people to the Plaza for a fun night out. It is so rewarding and exciting to see our plans come to life and there is so much more we have in the works for the community.”

The revitalization of The Plaza has received recognition for its ability to drive equitable economic development. Earlier this year, the project was awarded a $1 million grant from Governor Wes Moore’s Baltimore Vacants Reinvestment Initiative (BVRI), secured in partnership with Comprehensive Housing Assistance Inc. (CHAI). The grant underscores the importance of The Plaza’s transformation and the momentum building around Northwest Baltimore’s broader resurgence.

The ribbon cutting follows a wave of other notable developments at The Plaza. National footwear and lifestyle retailer DTLR opened its 250th store on the property, joining other national retailers including Giant Food, Home Depot, Burlington, and Five Below, further establishing The Plaza as a prime retail destination. Additionally, TRC partnered with the Baltimore Tree Trust to install 151 native trees, marking the Tree Trust’s first-ever collaboration with a private commercial property owner.

New culinary concepts have also been added to its tenant base, enhancing The Plaza’s food offerings, and the space has been utilized as a venue for community-centric programming, including pop-up events, seasonal food drives, and public art installations. TRC is also in discussion with several national retail and entertainment brands interested in coming to The Plaza, which will further position the property as a go-to regional destination.

“This revitalization is a win for the entire Northwest Baltimore community,” said Councilman Yitzy Schleifer. “Outside of the redevelopment of Pimlico Race Course, this is the most impactful and significant project in the district — the investments made here are bringing back foot traffic, attracting new businesses, and creating spaces where people can feel proud of their community. This is the kind of long-term investment that Baltimore needs.”

Originally opened in 1962, The Plaza has long served as a commercial and cultural anchor in Baltimore. With continued investment, strong civic partnerships, and community-driven programming, it is being renewed as a vibrant destination for shopping, entertainment, economic opportunity and community life.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony is open to the public and will include a visit from the Kona Ice truck. The event will be followed immediately by the Glen Neighborhood Improvement Association’s Craft Fair, located in the interior mall of The Plaza. Attendees are encouraged to join the celebration and experience first-hand The Plaza's revitalization.
