The Department of Homeland Security and FBI are warning that large-scale events are prime targets for violence, highlighting the potential for violence at events this summer.
However, the DHS and FBI did not indicate there are any known threats in a joint intelligence bulletin sent to law enforcement on May 23.
“Violent extremist messaging continues to highlight major sporting and cultural events and venues as potential targets, and threat actors — including domestic violent extremists (DVEs), homegrown violent extremists (HVEs) inspired by Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs), and other mass casualty attackers not motivated by an ideology — previously have targeted public events with little to no warning,” according to the bulletin.
Some attacks, such as the N...
Brigadier General Barak Hiram, the Commander of the IDF's Gaza Division, stated that Hamas is nearing collapse, with its operational mechanisms failing and its grip on Gaza weakening.
In remarks reported by Kan News, Hiram suggested that the people of Gaza may ultimately overthrow Hamas themselves. He noted that the organization is struggling to pay salaries, leading to a breakdown in its governance and operational capabilities.
“We see that the pressure we’re applying—both directly on Hamas’ military arm and on its governing structures, as well as the indirect pressure on the population—is having a significant effect,” Hiram said during his conversation with residents of Kibbutz Nirim near the Gaza border.
He added, “It’s p...

US President Donald Trump warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against taking steps that could harm nuclear deal negotiations between the US and Iran in a phone call last week, a senior White House official and another source familiar with the details said on Tuesday.
Trump’s message to Netanyahu was that “this is not the time to escalate the situation while he is trying to resolve the issues.”
Trump and other senior US officials have expressed increasing concern in private talks that Netanyahu might order a military strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities or take other actions that could sabotage diplomatic efforts, said the senior White House official.

Craft retailer Joann is expected to close the last of its 500 stores by the end of the week after the highest bidder from its second bankruptcy filing in less than a year decided to shutter all locations.
The remaining stores span 47 states, including more than a dozen locations in New York.
Financial services firm GA Group gained control of Joann soon after the 82-year-old chain filed for bankruptcy in January.
In March, GA Group announced plans to initiate closing sales at all 790 Joann locations with up to 40% off discounts.
These sales – which included up to 90% off some products, according to customer posts on social media – were expected to last for approximately 12 weeks through the end of May or until supplies last.
A spokesperson for GA Group c...
Baltimore, MD - May 27, 2025 - An Iranian national pleaded guilty Tuesday to participating in an international ransomware and extortion scheme involving the Robbinhood ransomware that struck U.S. cities, including Baltimore.
Baltimore City officials discovered malware in 2019 that prompted email, phones and computers to be shut down, which impacted many city services.
Sina Gholinejad, 37, and his co-conspirators compromised the computer networks of cities, corporations, health care organizations and other entities around the United States, according to court documents and statements made in court.
U.S. Department of Justice officials said in a statement that Gholinejad and co-conspirators then encrypted files from the victim networks with Robbinhood ransomware t...
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump engaged in a heated phone call last week over how to confront Iran, Israeli television reported Monday, contradicting earlier claims that the two had reached a unified stance on preventing Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.
According to Channel 12 news, the conversation was marked by sharp disagreements, with Trump reportedly telling Netanyahu: “I want a diplomatic solution with the Iranians. I believe in my ability to make a good deal.” He also reportedly emphasized his interest in an agreement that would serve the interests of both sides.
The tone of the reported conversation appeared to conflict with earlier claims suggesting the two leaders had concluded their call with mutual understanding.

Baltimore, MD - May 27, 2025 - The Bowleys Quarters neighborhood is abuzz over annoying little bugs.
The bugs, called midges, were seen snared in spiderwebs on light posts at a Middle River marina. The aquatic flies swarm and breed near water and marshy areas.
Baltimore County Councilman David Marks, R-District 5, told 11 News that residents are frustrated because in the evening hours the bugs just take over.
“They really aren’t dangerous, but they are incredibly annoying,” Marks told 11 News.
“When I walk out in the mornings, there’s a cloud of these things as soon as I walk out. I almost have to hold my breath sometimes so they don’t get in my mouth,” said Justin Pugh, of Bowleys Quarters. “There’s a bunch that get in my car as I&...
Washington, D.C.- May 27, 2025 - Parents purchasing a new car seat in the next year will want to be aware of an important safety update: Starting June 30, 2025, all car seats sold in the U.S. must meet new federal safety standards aimed at improving protection during side-impact collisions.
The regulation, issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, is a major move toward reducing child fatalities and injuries in what experts consider one of the most dangerous types of crashes.
"These new standards are a major step forward in protecting children during one of the most serious types of crashes," the agency told "Good Morning America."
Why now?
Side-impact collisions, also known as T-bone crashes, can be particularly deadly for children because...
The Department of Government Efficiency claimed Friday the Social Security Administration (SSA) has "marked" approximately 12.3 million people with Social Security numbers as dead.
The listed ages of the millions of people were at least 120 years, according to DOGE, which posted on social media platform X the SSA has carried out a major “cleanup” of its records.
“After 11 weeks, @SocialSecurity has finished this major cleanup initiative: ~12.3M individuals aged 120+ have now been marked as deceased,” DOGE wrote. “Some complex cases remain, such as individuals with 2+ different birth dates on file. These will be investigated in a follow-up effort.”

Baltimore, MD - May 27, 2025 - Baltimore County State’s Attorney Scott Shellenberger is hoping state’s attorneys around Maryland can talk with the governor about juvenile crime because he says the system isn’t working.
Shellenberger says “younger” juveniles are committing violent crime — and that more needs to be done the first time juveniles enter the system so that “we won’t see them again.”
“That’s the place that I think we are falling down, is we are not doing enough to make sure we don’t have to re-arrest them,” Shellenberger said.
He says even though juvenile justice laws changed, the system isn’t working with increased caseloads. That’s not only in Baltimore County b...
The opening of the humanitarian aid distribution centers marks the beginning of the end of Hamas rule, an Israeli source told The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday as the IDF announced the opening of two large food distribution centers, which it has said should be able to feed up to 600,000 Palestinians over the course of a week.
The two centers are located one at Tel Sultan in Rafah in deep southern Gaza, and one at the Morag Corridor, a bit north of Rafah.
A third is expected to open up near Khan Yunis in mid-southern Gaza, and a fourth in central Gaza, though it is still unclear if these other facilities are days or weeks away from opening.
Sources told the Post that the food centers would get up to their maximum food distribution capacity relatively r...
Israel and Syria have engaged in direct face-to-face meetings in recent weeks aimed at de-escalating tensions along their shared border, according to a report by Reuters citing five sources familiar with the matter.
These contacts, a rare development between the long-time adversaries, follow months of indirect back-channel communications facilitated by intermediaries. Reuters noted the talks began after Islamist rebels, including Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, ousted Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad in December.
The Syrian side has reportedly been represented by senior security official Ahmad al-Dalati, who now oversees both Quneitra and Sweida provinces. The identities of the Israeli participants remain undisclosed, though sources indicated they are likely security officials.

President Trump is instructing federal agencies to identify and sever remaining contracts with Harvard University, further tightening the screws in its fight with the Ivy League institution.
The letter from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) asks all federal agencies to help in a review to terminate or transition federal government contracts with Harvard and its affiliates. A copy of the letter was shared with The Hill by a source familiar with the matter.
The letter accuses Harvard of engaging in racial discrimination in justifying the termination of contracts.
“As relevant here, GSA understands that Harvard continues to engage in race discrimination, including in its admissions process and in other areas of student life,” the letter sta...
