Baltimore, MD - Dec. 30, 2024 - Baltimore officially recorded 200 homicides for 2024, a nearly 23% decrease from 2023, with just two days before the start of 2025.
Within the past week, a 27-year-old man died after he was shot in the back of the head on Thursday in the 2400 block of East Preston Street. A 21-year-old man was also found dead on Friday after being shot in the 2100 block of Druid Hill Avenue.
Baltimore has seen a significant drop in homicides over the last three years. In 2023, Baltimore recorded 259 homicides. In 2022, the city experienced 333 homicides.
