Baltimore, MD - July 25, 2024  - Today, justice has been served with the first-degree murder conviction of the final perpetrator responsible for the tragic and senseless murder of Efraim Gordon. Efraim was in Baltimore to celebrate a family member’s wedding when his life was violently taken during a robbery.

This conviction provides a measure of closure to Efraim’s family and the community, though it cannot truly erase the pain of such a profound loss. My deepest condolences go out to the Gordon family as they continue to navigate this incredibly difficult time. Ephraim’s memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew him.

I commend the diligent work of our law enforcement officers, homicide detectives, prosecutors, community members, and all those involved in ensuring justice was served. Their dedication to upholding the law and protecting the community is deeply appreciated.

As we reflect on this verdict, we must reaffirm our commitment to addressing the root causes of violence in our city. We need to work together to create a safer, more just Baltimore for all residents and visitors.

Let us honor Efraim’s memory by striving for a community where such tragedies are not only addressed with justice but also prevented through compassion and proactive measures.
