Will Defense Minister Yoav Gallant will remain in his post?Shas chairman MK Aryeh Deri held talks with Gallant and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which it was agreed that Gallant would apologize for the timing of the speech in which he called for the judicial reform to be stopped, and to clarify that he opposes threats of refusal to serve in the army as a means of protesting the reform.

Should Gallant make such a statement, Netanyahu is expected to agree to keep Gallant in the Ministry of Defense.

Deri has been making a great effort to mediate between Gallant and Netanyahu. This past Friday, Deri met with IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi in order to hear about the goings on in the army in light of the latest developments.

Netanyahu decided to fire Gallant from the position of Minister of Defense after he called for a halt to the legislation of the judicial reform in a speech last Saturday night, which he gave while the Prime Minister was in London.... Read More: Arutz-7
