Baltimore, MD - June 20, 2019 - Hard to believe, but, 27 Baltimore children in our community are afflicted with traumatic illnesses.  They escape those illnesses, looks of judgement, and self-consciousness for 2 weeks each summer in Camp Simcha, a medical camp that is the flagship program of Chai Lifeline.

The cost for them to be taken care of and in camp is $10,000 per child.  Medicine, medical staff, one-on-one support... it all ads up.

That means the total cost for our local kids is $270,000.

Team Baltimore, riding in memory Ed Schaffer, z'l, (pictured below), has an ambitious goal of raising $100,000 to help cover the costs of the 27 Baltimore children who attend Camp Simcha.  This money will help us cover just over a third of the expense to give our community's children an escape from the illnesses.  No child should ever have to suffer these afflictions, and no parent should ever have to learn to cope with these challenges.  Chai Lifeline provides that escape, that respite.

Please support Team Baltimore in Bike4Chai this year and help us cover the costs for our community's ill children.
