Congregation Tiferes Yisroel, more commonly and affectionately known as Rabbi Goldberger's shul, invites the Baltimore community to join our kehilla in celebrating our 33rd anniversary, on Monday, April 1, 2019, featuring a gala concert by the renowned Israeli entertainer, Yonatan Razel.

Tiferes Yisroel, established in 1986, has been a consistent and unceasing magnet for families and singles engaged in building Torah lives.  In addition, this loved and respected institution has served as a beacon of Jewish outreach in the Baltimore community, regularly welcoming Jews of all backgrounds to join in the joyous recognition of what it means to be a Jew, and in leading an authentic and satisfying Jewish life. Led by Rabbi Menachem Goldberger, Tiferes Yisroel offers a unique, warm and genuine approach to Jewish living and learning, unequivocally exerting a positive and lasting influence on the lives of thousands of Jewish men and women.

This year’s star performer is none other than Yonatan Razel, an extraordinary singer, songwriter and conductor, born in New York and raised in Israel. Mastering the piano and cello at a young age, Yonatan demonstrated exceptional prowess, going on to form a band with his siblings, and performing on a nationally respected Israeli radio program. He also served as a topnotch musician and arranger for the IDF military band during his tenure in the army, and, later, conducted for the Israel Chamber Orchestra and the Ra’anana Symphonette.

When an offer to arrange music came from another well-known Israeli singer and songwriter, Yoni Rechter, Yonatan went on to garner additional accolades for his work, ultimately releasing his first album, All in All, an outstanding collection of inspiring melodies that earned him the coveted “Singer of the Year” and “Song of the Year” awards from Ynet in 2007.

Razel gained further fame in 2009, writing and arranging a hugely successful composition for Yaakov Shwekey entitled, ”Vehi She’amda.”  The song’s rousing commercial success earned Razel the enviable prize of  “Song of the Decade” from the religious Israeli radio station “Kol Chai.” Since then, Yonatan Razel’s career has continued to soar, and we are truly honored and delighted to bring this outstanding musician’s talent to Baltimore.

We hope that the turnout for this event will be strong and enthusiastic, as it has the potential to provide a large source of operating funds for our shul. Moreover, it will be an opportunity for the community to help support the beautifully creative and meaningful work of Rabbi and Rebbetzin Goldberger, in the community at large. To ensure that your donation offers as much value and raises as many funds as possible, Tiferes Yisroel has partnered with CauseMatch, one of the most popular and successful online digital fundraising platforms available today. The campaign will take place on March 10, 2019, and donations will be TRIPLED.   The link to the campaign will  be  www.causematch.com/goldbergers-2019

General seating tickets are available at $50 per seat, preferred seating tickets at $100, two premium seating tickets are available with each $1,000 donation.

A great time is sure to be had by all, and we look forward to meeting and greeting everyone on this truly special evening.  Thank you in advance for your support, and may we all share in many more uplifting communal events!
