Fitness & Wellness Associate (Certified Personal Trainer)

About the Position

The Edward A. Myerberg Fitness Center is looking for a part-time dynamic and outgoing Fitness & Wellness Associate (Certified Personal Trainer) that will supervise the Fitness Center and manage the day-to-day operations. The Certified Personal Trainer will provide one-on-one personal training and group fitness classes to adults 55+ and work with the Fitness Center team to retain and grow membership and personal training clients through creative promotions, marketing, and community partnerships.


This is NOT a remote position and would require specific onsite hours to start, including:


Mondays 7:30 – 10 a.m.

Tuesdays 7:30 – 11 a.m.

Wednesdays 7:30 – 10 a.m.

Thursdays 7:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Fridays 7:30 – 10 a.m.



In this role, you will:

Provide tours and information to new prospects
Assist in developing and maintaining workout programs for older adults
Ensure fitness facility is maintained clean, safe, and orderly
Ensure that fitness equipment is kept in good working condition
Monitor the initial workouts of new members and provide feedback
Provide one-on-one personal training for members for a fee
Ensure that the members are given high quality service and assistance when needed
Work with Fitness Center team to achieve annual budget goals




What we're looking for:

NCCA Personal Trainer Certification required
Senior fitness certification preferred
CPR Certification required
Ability to work well with older adults and to understand their needs. Must have a pleasant disposition.
Microsoft Office and database experience preferred
Background in marketing/sales preferred
Ability to work well with others and as part of a team
Ability to occasionally work evenings and Sundays and be present in the office, as appropriate
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
Ability to move supplies or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, as needed
Ability to work on feet for the entire shift
Must have driver’s license / vehicle
