Jerusalem, Israel - Jan. 15 - The Sherover and Haas Promenades, commonly known as the Tayelet, is one of Jerusalem, Israel's most popular tourist attractions and destinations. From the Tayelet in Armon Hanatziv, tour guides have explained the history of Jerusalem to busloads of tourists, while looking at the magnificent view the Old City. On the Tayelet, Sigd, the Ethiopian holiday celebrationweddings, bar mitzvahs and countless simchas have been held.

Usually the park areas are filled with groups and families, especially on Friday. However, on January 13, the grounds were nearly empty. Four young Israeli soldiers were murdered on the Tayelet, run over by a truck driven by an Arab terrorist on Sunday. After the incident, the main street was lined with metal fencing.

At the spot where the terrorist attacked, a special Erev Shabbos gathering was held, attracting locals of all ages. During the ceremony which featured Israeli and Erev Shabbos music, Artists4Israel created a mural with a pasuk from Tehillim 122:  “May there be peace with in your ramparts, tranquility in your citadels.”

Armon Hanatziv resident, community activist and organizer, Molly Livingstone told BJL, "We as the residents of Armon Hanatziv felt we wanted to honor those that were murdered here, lives taken too soon from this world, and at the same time, somehow grow together. It was an opportunity to mourn life lost and express hope for the future. We want people to keep coming to this beautiful promenade, which is home to one of the most spectacular views of the Old City. Our neighborhood has been hit by several terrorist attacks over this past year, but we continue to rise again and again, because this is what we do."
