Police in Northern District say 5-year-old child was left in family car the entire night.

Police in the Northern District are investigating a suspicion that a 5-year-old child was left in the family car until the early hours of the morning.

An MDA emergency team was summoned to a local clinic in the northern area where the child had been brought by his family suffering from unconsciousness and convulsions. The family claim they do not know what caused the child's condition.

The child was transferred to hospital and after treatment his condition significantly improved.

At the same time an investigation has been opened into the incident. From preliminary information in the hands of the police, it emerged that the family were unaware that the child had been left in the car and he slept there all night and was only located unconscious in the late hours of the morning

A number of the family members said they thought he had gone to sleep with his grandmother and did not suspect that he had been left in the car. The police investigation continues.
