Jerusalem, Israel - Oct. 1, 2015 - A special Hakhail ceremony was held near the Kotel, on the Western Wall Plaza in Jerusalem, Israel on Wednesday evening, Chol Hamoed Sukkot.. 

After tens of thousands of people attended Birchat Kohanim in the morning, in the afternoon tens of thousands gathered again to hear a special Torah portion read at the end of shmita. Israeli President Reuven Rivlin led the list of dignitaries. Large video screens provided the crowds an opportunity to see the events on the raised stage.

Live music followed the official program, hundreds of people stayed to sing and dance. The bands stopped playing, but the singing and dancing continued, part of the celebration of Sukkot this year in Jerusalem.
