About half of Americans believe the Russian government interfered with the 2016 election by hacking into Democratic Party computers, but a far smaller share believe this affected the outcome of the election, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll found.

Some 51% said they believed Russians intervened in the election through hacking, the poll found. Of that group, only 26% said they believed President-elect Donald Trump would have lost the election had the hacking not occurred, while 63% said they weren't sure.

Some 36% of those surveyed said they didn't think the Russian government conducted hacking into Democratic Party computers to interfere in the election.
