Kearny, NJ - A tanker truck fire on the New Jersey Turnpike is causing some travel delays in northern New Jersey.

No injuries have been reported in the fire, which broke out early Wednesday afternoon near milepost 110 in Kearny. But it was producing large plumes of thick black smoke that could be seen as far away as New York City.

State police shuttered two travel lanes in the area, and firefighters were working to extinguish the blaze.
