Baltimore, MD - July 19, 2017 - Baltimore City Councilman Yitzy Schleifer has received prestigious recognition by The Daily Record with the recent announcement that they were naming him to their 2017 list of Very Important Professionals (VIP) Successful by 40. He was the only city councilman given this recognition.

Before being elected to the council, Schleifer was known for his community leadership and involvement on various local organizations and non-profits. He also is a noted entrepreneur and small business owner. The Daily Record VIP list was created to recognize successful professionals under the age of 40, based on “professional accomplishments, community service and commitment to inspiring change”.

“It is an honor to be recognized by The Daily Record, a prestigious Maryland media outlet, for the work I have done and continue to do on behalf of Baltimore residents,” Schleifer said. Raised in the Baltimore Orthodox Jewish community, from a young age Yitzy was imbued with a sense of community activism and spirit. “I hope that this recognition helps encourage young people throughout Maryland to get more involved; and as councilman, I hope that it helps develop greater faith among the younger generation in government and its representatives.”
