The National Weather Service has modified its predictions for snow on Thursday in a newly issued winter weather advisory.

Officials said that 2 to 4 inches of snow are projected to accumulate in Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick and Harford counties on Thursday. Snow is expected to fall overnight into the middle of Thursday morning.

The winter weather advisory is in effect from 1 to 9 a.m. on Thursday and replaces the winter storm watch, which had predicted there would be at least 5 inches of snow.

According to the winter weather advisory, drivers should use caution on the roads, which may be snow-covered and present limited visibility on Thursday. Winds will be 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph, and temperatures will be in the low to mid 30s, the weather service advised.
