Baltimore, MD - Oct. 11, 2016 -  Last night, the evening before Yom Kippur, Rabbi Yissochor Dov Eichenstein and Mercaz Torah U'Tefilla welcomed the community to hear Divrei Hisorirus from Rabbi Shmuel Silber,  Mara D’Asra of Suburban Orthodox, Toras Chaim.

Rabbi Silber's talk, entitled "Cathartic Change, Limitless Potential; Appreciating the Precious Gift of Yom Kippur" drew a filled-to-capacity crowd. Quoting from a source sheet that he distributed for attendees to follow, Rabbi Silber's passionate message combined Classic and Chassidic sources with a touch of humor. "I'm happy that I am able to use my Chassidic sources for this audience, Rabbi Silber quipped."

Rabbi Silber also referred to the pain, suffering, illness and recent losses in our community and among Klal Yisroel, and expounded on the link between Teshuva and Refuah. Quoting the Gemara in Yuma he explained that "to change oneself is to heal the world."

The event was sponsored in memory and L'zecher Nishmas Yechiel Michel Yehudah Ben Aryeh.

May we indeed be Zoche to true Teshuva and Refuah, a Gmar Chasima Tova.
