All lanes of the Interstate 695 inner loop are shut down Thursday morning due to an incident on the beltway, transportation officials say. The closure is impacting traffic before the exit for Charles Street.

Three lanes on the outer loop were closed as well after 6:30 a.m.

According to WBAL, the closure was caused by a vehicle fire with entrapment. State transportation officials say the incident involved two vehicles.
