11 Insta-Weather PLUS meteorologist John Collins says parts of Maryland could see some "shovelable" amounts of snow by Tuesday morning.

Computer models differ on how much snow Maryland could see by Tuesday morning. One computer model puts 2 to 3 inches of snow in the area, particularly north of Baltimore. Another computer model estimates as much as 5 inches of snow, mostly near the Pennsylvania line north and east of Baltimore. Stay with WBAL-TV 11 News as the forecast updates.

A clipper storm riding a cold front will arrive in Maryland by Monday evening. It will bring a mix of rain and snow Monday night into Tuesday. Temperatures will determine how much rain will mix with snow, which will impact accumulation amounts.

The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington has issued a Winter Storm Watch...which is in effect from late tonight through late Tuesday night.

* Hazard type...snow with periods of heavy snow.

* Accumulations...snow accumulation of 6 to 9 inches.

* Timing...precipitation will begin later today...initially as rain or a rain/snow mix. The precipitation will transition to all snow tonight and last through Tuesday night...with periods of heavy snow during this time.

* Impacts...roads will become snow covered...resulting in hazardous travel conditions.

* Winds...northwest 5 to 10 mph.

* Temperatures...in the lower 30s. Precautionary/preparedness actions...
