Baltimore, MD - Jan. 7, 2016 - Now that two perpetrators have been caught, police are assessing whether there are more individuals who have been involved with the recent burglaries. Baltimore Police Chief of Patrol, Colonel Melissa Hyatt joined Neil Schachter, Simcha Retter, and Rav Heineman in the NWCP office and explained the strategy of the police department for the near future. She stated that police are taking these crimes very seriously and dedicating more police officers and detectives to our area. The important role of a detective is to solve crimes already perpetrated. The responsibility of police officers is to prevent crimes from occurring. Colonel Hyatt was very articulate in explaining that the police department fully understands that burglaries are terrible crimes for communities, and that they will pull out all the stops to make sure they are prevented.

As a big surprise, Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis joined the meeting. He came to make an important statement to the community that they are doing all that they can to police the area and to keep us safe. As a reminder, the new commander of the Northwest District and other officers will be having a community meeting at the JCC this Monday night and everyone is invited. It is a great opportunity for us to meet our commander and to be able to have a dialogue with him about moving forward to protect our community.
