The Caredi community in Israel fears that Environmental Protection Minister Gila Gamliel intends to destroy the streimel industry, Behadrei Haredim reported.
A shtreimel is a fur hat which is often worn by hasidic and haredi Jews from eastern Europe. They are usually made from the tails of Canadian or Russian sable, beech marten, and baum marten, and are among the most expensive parts of traditional hasidic dress.

Democratic leaders are warring with some on far-left members who back Omar
Senior Democratic leaders issued a unified statement Thursday, denouncing comments made by Minnesota Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar when she compared U.S. and Israeli "war crimes" to actions by the Taliban and Hamas.
The statement was part of an internecine war of words within the Democratic Party, with some leftist members of the caucus supporting Omar against attacks by the leadership.
Omar issued a statement Thursday clarifying her comments after she was met with a flood of criticism from not only Republicans on the Hill, but from members of her own party.

The Biden administration is warning Venezuela and Cuba to turn away Iranian ships believed to be carrying arms to Caracas, Venezuela, vowing to take “appropriate measures” to deter the “threat” to America and its allies in the West.
As the ships have traveled across the Atlantic Ocean, Caracas is leveraging the situation for relief from U.S. sanctions imposed by the Trump administration, officials told Politico.

Intelligence Ministry releases report warning PA attempting to choke Jewish communities, create connections with Arab Israelis and Bedouin.
The Intelligence Ministry has produced a new report stating that the illegal Palestinian Authority construction in Judea and Samaria constitutes a threat to Israel's national security, Channel 12 News reported.
The report for the first time also deals with the PA's activities in Areas A and B in addition to Area C, It states that the PA is openly working "to create conditions for a future connection between the Palestinian state and areas with an Arab majority in the State of Israel and the Bedouin settlements in the Negev."
