Jewish House lawmakers and Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., are at odds after Omar tweeted about “unthinkable atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban,” Punchbowl News reported.
A group of 12 House Democrats issued a statement Wednesday night condemning Omar and demanding she “clarify her words.”

A bug, dormant since mid-May, was triggered by a very specific user configuration update.
Fastly, one of the internet's largest content delivery networks (CDN), went down this Tuesday, resulting in millions of users being unable to access certain websites. 85% of the network covered by Fastly returned errors on Tuesday morning, and it was all caused by a single user configuration update that uncovered a bug that had laid dormant in Fastly's infrastructure since mid-May.

Maryland hospitals and health systems will require all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
On Wednesday, the University of Maryland Medical System and Johns Hopkins Medicine announced their COVID-19 vaccine requirements for employees.
UMMS officials said starting Sept. 1, all team members will be required to receive their vaccination or participate in weekly testing.
Officials also said all leaders at the manager level and above will have until Aug. 1 to be vaccinated or comply with weekly testing.

A spokesperson for Vice President Harris said officials are “looking into” an incident in which a woman apparently pretending to be a Univision reporter snuck into a press conference in Mexico City to tell Harris that she had voted for her.
The fake reporter identified herself as “Maria Fernanda” from Univision.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s apparent weight loss has caused rumors to spread about the month he recently spent out of the public eye, the Independent reports.
Last week, Kim appeared in public for the first time in nearly a month during a meeting of the ruling party politburo. NK News reports the dictator appears to have lost a “significant amount of weight,” and later published photos that they said showed Kim has tightened the band on his watch.

Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Galactic, may have plans to beat Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos in becoming the first billionaire to fly on their own suborbital spaceship according to a report from the website Parabolic Arc.
“Ever since I was five years old, I’ve dreamed of traveling to space,” Bezos wrote on Instagram earlier this week. “On July 20th, I will take that journey with my brother. The greatest adventure, with my best friend.”

A recent study by the Cleveland Clinic analyzing more than 50,000 of its employees over five months found that those who had been infected with COVID-19 did not benefit from vaccinations. During the study, researchers found that not a single person who had been previously infected with the virus became ill.
According to a Life Sciences news report, the participants were divided into three groups. One group consisted of people who were previously infected and unvaccinated. The second group already had COVID-19 but received two doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, and the third group were people who did not have COVID-19 but received their shots.A fourth, control group, never had COVID-19 and were not vaccinated.

A bipartisan group of House moderates on Wednesday unveiled an eight-year, $1.25 trillion infrastructure plan designed to help break the months-long impasse over President Biden’s top domestic legislative priority.
The framework offered by the 58-member Problem Solvers Caucus calls for more than $959 billion for traditional infrastructure, including highways, bridges, rail, airports and waterways; $25 billion of that money would be set aside for electric vehicle infrastructure, including electric buses.

A government watchdog has determined the law enforcement agencies responsible for clearing protesters gathered outside the White House last summer failed to fully warn the crowd to disperse while fractured radio communications led officers to use chemical irritants that had not been authorized.
The report from the Department of the Interior’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG) is the first to evaluate the June 1 clearing of protesters shortly before former President Trump crossed Lafayette Square for a photo-op at a nearby church with a Bible in hand.

Major meat producer JBS USA said it paid the equivalent $11 million to hackers to resolve a ransomware attack that forced the company to shut down its beef plants.
The company said in a statement on Thursday that it made the decision to “mitigate any unforeseen issues related to the attack and ensure no data was exfiltrated.”
At the time of the payment, the vast majority of the company’s facilities were operational, it said.

JERUSALEM, Israel – After a year without Birthright Israel trips for young adults from across the United States, the first group arrived in Tel Aviv late-May organized and operated by the Orthodox Union’s (OU) Israel Free Spirit.
The group, made up of 17 fully vaccinated young adults from diverse Jewish backgrounds, 14 of them from the US and 3 from Israel, travelled for eight days throughout Israel, including Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Masada, the Golan Heights and Dead Sea. The U.S. participants hail from Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The Israeli participants joined as a way for participants to better connect with and understand daily life of their counterparts.
