DALLAS (AP) — As nurse Teri Wheat made her rounds at a Texas maternity ward, she began to realize she was having a hard time understanding the new mothers who were wearing masks due to the coronavirus pandemic.
So she got her hearing tested and now wears hearing aids.

Jerusalem, Israel - Nov. 24, 2020 - United Hatzalah medical personnel were dispatched to an apartment building on Sorotzkin Street in the Romema neighborhood of Jerusalem early on Tuesday morning in response to a large structure fire that took place in a residential building. The first responders who arrived treated nearly 30 people who were injured as a result of the blaze.

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - El Al Israel Airlines will operate 14 weekly flights from Tel Aviv to Dubai from Dec. 13, it said on Monday, joining a handful of carriers launching routes between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Israel and the UAE agreed in September to establish diplomatic relations, breaking a longstanding taboo and paving the way for economic cooperation.

President Donald Trump is vowing to “never concede,” the “most corrupt election in American political history”— despite the General Services Administration giving the go-ahead to Joe Biden to begin a transition to the White House.
Trump’s remarks came in a late Monday night tweet. David Norman Dinkins, the former mayor of New York City, has died. He was 93 years old.
Born July 10, 1927, Dinkins served as the 106th Mayor of New York City from 1990 to 1993. He was the first and, to date, only African American to hold that office.
During his tenure, New York City dealt with the infamous Crown Heights riots in 1991.
Before entering politics, Dinkins was among the more than 20,000 Montford Point Marines (trained 1942–1949; Dinkins’ service was 1945–1946); he graduated cum laude from Howard University; and he received his law degree from Brooklyn Law School (1956).
Dinkins began his political career by serving in the State Assembly (1966), eventually advancing to Manhattan borough president before becoming mayor.

A majority of Republicans surveyed in a new poll — 54 percent — said they would vote for President Trump in 2024.
The Morning Consult-Politico poll released Tuesday found that 12 percent of GOP voters said they would choose Vice President Pence in the 2024 primary instead, while 8 percent said they would vote for the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr.
In addition, 68 percent of Republicans voters said they consider President Trump to be more in touch with the GOP's “rank and file,” compared to 20 percent who said the same of congressional Republicans.

Pennsylvania officials on Tuesday certified the commonwealth’s election results showing Joe Biden won the presidential election in the state over President Trump.
Gov. Tom Wolf (D) tweeted that the Pennsylvania Department of State certified the election results and he “signed the Certificate of Ascertainment for the slate of electors for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris” as required by law.
The move cements Biden’s victory in the Keystone State, which helped him top 270 electoral votes in the election three weeks ago.
The certification comes after officials in both Georgia and Michigan certified results showing Biden winning their respective Electoral College votes.

Nobel Peace Prize laureate instrumental in peace deal between UK and Ireland recommends Israeli Prime Minister receive Nobel Prize.
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was nominated Tuesday for the Nobel Peace Prize, for the recent string of peace deals between Israel and moderate Arab states.
The nomination was submitted by Lord David Trimble, a former North Irish lawmaker who was instrumental in the negotiations which led to the Good Friday Agreement of 1998, which effectively ended the conflict between Protestants and Catholics in North Ireland.
Trimble is himself a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, receiving the prize in 1998.
