President Herzog: “We are inundated by antisemitism, which is Jew hatred. And Jew hatred impacts the behaviour of human beings in so many places around the world, and you have a huge role to play. We need to fight it together because on the platforms which you lead, unfortunately, there's a harbouring of a lot of all the hate, which is Jew hatred, which is antisemitism. We need to fight and combat this hate in order to make the world a better place, a safer place.”Elon Musk: “We have to do whatever is necessary to stop the hate. Essentially these people have been fed propaganda since they were children. And it's remarkable what humans are capable of if they're fed falsehoods, from when they are children, they will think that the murder of innocent people is...

Hamas sought to extend the four-day pause in the Gaza war Sunday night, after it had completed 80% of a hostage deal that went into effect Friday, releasing 40 Israelis, one Filipino and 17 Thai citizens over the last three days. A jubilant Israel welcomed 14 of those Israelis and three Thai citizens on Sunday, including Avigail Idan (4) who also holds American citizenship. Hamas killed her parents in front of her in Kfar Aza during the group’s attack on Southern Israel on October 7, when terrorists seized some 240 hostages. “We are moved to the depth of our souls,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said. IDF Spokesperson R.-Adm. Daniel Hagari told reporters, “This is an emotional day, but we have not forgotten for a moment the hostages that ...
IDF Spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, during his nightly press briefing on Sunday, discussed the release of the third group of hostages from Hamas captivity. "Today, Hagar, Ofri, Yuval, Oriya, Chen, Agam, Gal, Tal, Dafna, Ela, Elma, Aviva, Ron and Avigail returned home. 4-year-old Avigail Idan, orphaned after her parents were murdered by the brutal terror organization Hamas, is a hero and is a living example that the war against Hamas is uniquely justified. This is a war against an evil and cruel enemy, and like Avigail, each and every one of the returned hostages has family or close ones who were murdered or are still being held hostage. That is an unbearable pain to carry," Hagari stated. The spokesman continued: "Elma, who was returned to us in critical condition, was immediate...

The Presidents met privately before and after speaking to the cameras. After welcoming President Steinmei...

US President Joe Biden gave an address following the release of 14 Israeli hostages and three foreign nationals from Hamas captivity. The President opened with a mention of four-year-old US-Israeli citizen Avigail Idan, who was abducted after her parents were murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7th. "Two days ago, one of our fellow Americans turned four years old. She spent her birthday, that birthday, and at least 50 days before that, held hostage by Hamas. Today, she's free, and Jill and I, together with so many Americans, are praying that she will be alright." Biden added: "We will not stop working until every one of the hostages is returned to their loved ones." The President said that he would soon speak again with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, "and we will continu...
A few days after the outbreak of the war, I had an article published in these pages giving people some general tips and suggestions on how to deal with weight gain attained over the holiday period, and how to get back on track to shed weight and promote better health.  Like all of my Jerusalem Post articles, it later appeared on social media.  One person commented and was very upset that this article was posted while we were in the grips of a national tragedy and a war.  First of all, this article had been prepared for publication before the Succot holiday even started. Second, and I think far more important, our health cannot take a back seat even when the worst of the worst has happened.  It is especially important in the most stressful and pressured times, that we st...
