As thousands of Jewish families gather at local shuls for Rosh Hashana, there is an understandable sense of urgency regarding the current situation.

Baltimore, MD – September 13, 2023 - A carjacking occurred in the Baltimore area on the evening of September 11, drawing attention to the urgent need for heightened security and vigilance.
At 8:25 PM, Shomrim reported two Hyundai thefts in the Bonnie area. Owners of Hyundai and Kia vehicles are urged to avail themselves of complimentary security software upgrades offered by dealerships and to use additional safety measures, such as no-cost steering wheel locks, to deter potential thieves.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the firestorm surrounding reports that his government authorized the transfer of American armored vehicles and arms to the Palestinian Authority.
"There is no limit to the fake news, so here are the facts: since the government was established, it did not transfer any weapons, no even one, to the Palestinian Authority," Netanyahu stated.

In a unanimous vote, 16 advisors said oral forms of phenylephrine – a nasal decongestant found in versions of drugs like Nyquil, Benadryl, Sudafed and Mucinex – aren’t effective at relieving a stuffy nose.

Inflation posted its biggest monthly increase this year in August as consumers faced higher prices on energy and a variety of other items.
The consumer price index, which measures costs across a broad variety of goods and services, rose a seasonally adjusted 0.6% for the month, and was up 3.7% from a year ago, the U.S. Department of Labor reported Wednesday. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones were looking for respective increases of 0.6% and 3.6%.
However, excluding volatile food and energy, core CPI increased 0.3% and 4.3% respectively, against estimates for 0.2% and 4.3%. Federal Reserve officials focus more on core as it provides a better indication of where inflation is heading over the long term.

Convicted killer Danelo Cavalcante, who escaped prison nearly two weeks ago, has been apprehended by police in Pennsylvania, officials said Wednesday.
Hundreds of law enforcement officials have been involved in a far-reaching manhunt for the past two weeks.
Cavalcante escaped Chester County Prison on Aug. 31, about a week after he was sentenced to life in prison for murdering his girlfriend by fatally stabbing her 38 times in front of her two young children. He was also wanted in a separate homicide case in Brazil.

Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall on Monday warned that China was building up its military to prepare for a potential war with the U.S., and he said America must optimize its forces to counter the rising threat.
Speaking at the Air and Space Forces Association Warfighter Symposium at National Harbor, Md., Kendall said the U.S. must be ready for a “kind of war we have no modern experience with,” though he stressed “war is not inevitable.”

Tonight, on September 12, 2023, a shooting incident occurred targeting a vehicle on Route 60 near the Arab town of Hawara.
The initial report came in at 20:17 to the MDA 101 emergency center in the Yarkon region. The victims, two individuals around 30 years of age, remained fully conscious and primarily suffered from shrapnel wounds. MDA EMTs and paramedics quickly arrived on the scene to provide medical assistance.
In an update provided at 1:47 PM, the MDA spokesperson noted that the injuries sustained were mild head wounds caused by glass shrapnel. The victims were being treated by MDA EMTs and paramedics in collaboration with an IDF medical unit.
