Authorities preparing for violence in towns with large Arab populations across Israel.
An Israeli soldier was attacked and injured by a lynch mob in Jaffa Thursday evening, as Arab rioting in mixed cities across Israel continues.
The 19-year-old soldier was treated at the scene before being evacuated to Ichilov Medical Center in Tel Aviv for further treatment.
The soldier is listed in serious condition, and is suffering from a cerebral hemorrhage stemming from the attack. Hospital officials reported that the soldier is also suffering from a fractured skull, and has been transferred for an emergency operation.
The IDF has opened an investigation into the attack.

IDF prepares for possible ground operation in Palestinian enclave after Israel rejects Hamas truce offers
The IDF is scrapping weekend leave for combat troops, the army announced on Thursday, with soldiers expected to stay on their bases amid the intensifying Gaza flare-up.
The army also summoned 7,000 reservists, IDF spokesperson said, including those serving in artillery and air defense corps, medical units, military intelligence and administration.

The Biden administration will resume construction of southern border wall levee, Fox News confirms, as the immigration crisis continues to spiral out of control.
The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will restart construction on a 13.4 mile stretch of levee in the Rio Grande Valley. The decision reportedly follows pressure from local residents and politicians to mend the incessant crossing surge.
Priority repairs are set to begin in six weeks to prevent flooding, followed by the establishment of a concrete levee wall fit with safety barriers in six to nine months. The USACE clarified that the wall will not be expanded on and will only repair the Rio Grande flood levee for the time being.

Initial jobless claims for the first week of May set a new pandemic low of 473,000, according to Labor Department Data released Thursday.
Seasonally adjusted claims dropped 34,000 from the previous week's revised figure, which was adjusted up to 507,000 from 498,000.
The figures are a balm after an unexpectedly poor showing in the April jobs report, which was released last Friday. Soldiers on base or at home ordered to remain where they are as IDF prepares for possible ground operation in Gaza.
Chief of Staff Lt. Col. Aviv Kochavi today (Thursday) issued a curfew order: all soldiers will remain on base and will not be allowed to leave their homes until further notice.
In addition, the Chief of Staff decided to expand the mobilization of the IDF reserves to 7,000 soldiers, some for combat and some for the Home Front Command.

The retail and tech giant said its open roles are offering average pay of $17 an hour, an increase over the company’s typical starting wage of $15 an hour.
The company in April said it was raising wages for more than 500,000 hourly employees of between 50 cents and $3 an hour, an investment of more than $1 billion. Chief Financial Officer Brian Olsavsky has said that competition for employees will rise.

Jerusalem, Israel - The vandalism being perpetrated by Israeli Arabs against Jews continued unabated Wednesday night despite increased police and border police presence in mixed Jewish-Arab towns. Early Thursday morning, Arab hooligans set on fire a number of Jewish cars on Rechov Ahavas Yisrael in Haifa’s Shikkun Vizhnitz. Colonial Pipeline paid almost $5 million in ransom to hackers last Friday despite reports that said the company had no intention of paying, Bloomberg news reported.
Sources familiar with the matter told Bloomberg that the company paid in untraceable cryptocurrency within hours after the attack. After the hackers received the payment, they provided the operator with a decrypting tool to restore its computer network.

Defense Minister Benny Gantz said Wednesday that the military operation will continue in the Gaza Strip for as long as necessary and that there is currently no end in sight.
“Israel is not preparing for a ceasefire. There is currently no end date for the operation. Baltimore City Police Commissioner Michael Harrison said to C4 and Bryan Nehman that he would be a part of the meeting between Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott and Gov. Larry Hogan that takes place Thursday.
"There’s always common ground, the question is can we come to a consensus on it," Harrison said.
Harrison said there are always things that a partner, such as the state, can do to help reduce crime in the city. He also spoke on some plans to combat future crime in the summer.
"Each of the nine districts produce a summertime crime plan that zeros in on problem places and problem people," Harrison said. He suggested over time could be used, but the goal is to also have an adequate amount of officers and equipment.
