Millions of Americans are breaking voter-turnout records with three weeks to go before Election Day, with Democrats casting early ballots at a far higher rate than Republicans.
Concerns about the coronavirus pandemic have increased mail-in voting and led to unprecedented levels of early voting, especially among Democrats. More than 17 million voters have cast their ballot early, either in person or by mail, in states that report voting data, according to the University of Florida Elections Project.

The Torah provides us with the rules, laws and framework through which to live a fully actualized life. The mitzvos are an expression of Divine will designed to help us attain personal holiness. Yet, this all-important Book of Laws doesn’t begin with instructions or commandments; it begins with a story. Not just any story. The story of creation.
We are told in great detail what God created on each day, culminating with Divine rest on Shabbos. It is a story we all know, yet, cannot comprehend. What is a “day” in the eyes of God? What does it mean to “create something from nothing?” Why include a story which the human mind cannot totally grasp and understand?
It is quite simple, actually. God teaches us how He built His world so that we may use the s...

In 2016, Hogan wrote in his father, Lawrence Hogan Sr. The elder Hogan was a former Prince George's County executive and member of Congress. In the House, he was the sole Republican member of the House Judiciary Committee to support articles of impeachment against President Richard Nixon.

The FDA said it will require common pain reliever medicines to change their labels to reflect warnings for women who are 20 weeks or later into pregnancy, bumping up the previously established warnings by a month.
The regulatory agency said taking these nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs at 20 weeks gestation or later in the pregnancy can cause rare but serious kidney problems in the unborn baby, leading to low levels of amniotic fluid and possible pregnancy-related complications.

Occasionally, when learning Torah, we come face to face with historical facts which may be at odds with the scientific perception or agenda of the day. Parshas Bereishis contains perhaps a thousand of those possibilities, in the first Aliya alone. Today, where evolution and the Big Bang are no longer advanced as theories, but rather taught as scientific facts, we must be very deliberate in how we explain these apparent inconsistencies to our children.
Several very dedicated and talented Mechanchim that my children have had, have dealt with this issue with different approaches and styles. One approach has simply been to say “science is wrong”. Indeed, history is full of many examples of scientific impossibilities becoming reality. Whether it ...

Today, 28 Tishrei, is the 19th yahrtzeit of my dear friend, Daniel Scarowsky, z"l.
This week's shtikle is dedicated leiluy nishmaso, Daniel Moshe Eliyahu ben Yitzchak.
Just after the Torah recounts the sin of the eitz hada'as, we are told about the birth of Kayin and Hevel and almost immediately of the tragic murder of Hevel. There does not seem to be any significant time lapse in between. The only hint given in the Torah is the term "vayehi mikeitz yamim," and it was at the end of (some) days. But there is no elaboration on this ambiguous time span. It seems altogether possible that this episode happened quite soon after the sin of the eitz hada'as.
It is well known that before the sin of the eitz hada'as, the physical realiti...

Now, due to rising infection rates in the United Kingdom, Israel’s Health Ministry will be changing England’s status to Red. The authorities are providing a grace period before this change takes effect. Hence, the change will take place at midnight of October 23, meaning the night between Thursday and Friday, next week
